March Update

Things are starting to happen! First off, the kids’ passports arrived. It took two days for the boys to get over the need to carry them around at all times. Our visa and work applications have been submitted to the Kenyan government. Apparently the medical license person at Kijabe is out on leave right now, so no progress there.

We are continuing our fundraising efforts. Mary Beth’s parent’s church has officially adopted us as their missionaries. A few weeks ago, we traveled down there to talk during the service on Sunday. It was such an encouragement to see their passion for spreading the Gospel around the world. Our next event is scheduled in Lexington on April 10th at Southside Church of Christ.

We are getting our house ready to list on the market. Lima, Ohio isn’t exactly a hopping location, so we think it will probably take a while for it to sell. That being said, our neighbor mentioned us to her realtor friend, and now we have a showing this weekend (we are nowhere near ready for this…) So we will be scrubbing crayon off the walls for the next few nights. And our kitchen currently looks like this, as we finish the last big project of installing the backsplash.

I have been checking plane ticket prices daily now. Between the war in Europe decreasing travel demand, and the oil prices increasing, the prices are staying pretty steady. A few websites are predicting prices to go down in the next 3-4 weeks, so I’m holding off for now. We bought a few rubbermaid tubs for taking all of our stuff over. At this point I think we will do a combo of suitcases, tubs, and duffel bags to hold all of our luggage, but the plan is ever evolving.

We appreciate all the support and encouragement we have received. You all have supplied over 50% of the necessary funds already! God’s plan to reach the nations with the good news about his Son is in full force, being carried out by millions of believers arounds the world. Being a part of that plan, and turning over control of our lives to God, is humbling, scary, and also comforting. We pray that you would feel and surrender to that same calling to submit your plans to God, and follow where He is guiding you. It really is the best way to live. As always, please reach out to kenyahear@gmail.com to get in touch.

In Christ,

Bryce and Mary Beth

Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
